About the Author

Fr. Joseph Vellaringatt, S.J, is a spiritual master, retreat director, and a specialist in Ignatian spiri-tuality. He is also an expert in Hinduism with a Doctorate Degree from Banaras Hindu University. He has published a number of articles in vari-ous Journals and Magazines. He has also con-ducted many seminars, workshops and retreats in various parts of India. In the Society of Jesus he has held many important posts, like Superior and Professor of Theology at the Regional The-ologate in Patna. As Assistant to the Provincial of Patna, he did an excellent job in organizing the Province for better administration. Moreover, he was one of the well appreciated Tertian Instruc-tors of the South Asian Assistancy of the Society of Jesus for many years. At present he is on the staff of Atmadarshan, Center for Spirituality and Counseling, Patna. His book on Hinduism: ‘Hin-du Dharma: Ek Laghu Parichaya’ (In Introduction to Hinduism)’, is being published from Prabhat Prakshan, Patna. His present book: ‘Walking with Pope Francis’ presents before the readers the joy of the gospel incarnated in the life and writings of Pope Francis.
