The author, John Mundu, in this painstaking and pioneering research work, has thrown much light on the Ho community’s world of beliefs and juxtaposed them with that of Christian traditions. This is one of the most effective ways of bridging the gap between the two living traditions.

The book, which sources its study to Ho myths, the documents of Vatican II and works of two contemporary theologians, portrays a community – the Ho Christian community – which is bora out of a fusion of two traditions. It is a valuable guide to those who work among Adivasis and the Church leaders to find out how the meaning of communion grew in both the traditions.

John Mundu SJ has finished his j^K doctoral studies in Jnana Deepa Vidyapeeth, Pune. He is the Director of Xavier Ho Publications, where he deals with the research and publication related to the Ho Christian Community. He is also associated with the Regional Theological Centre, Ranchi, as a visiting faculty to the courses on Church and the Tribals. At present he is in St. Xavier’s High School, Chaibasa, West Singhbhum Dist., Jharkhand.
