He has assembled in this book points of view of supporting and opposing camps on the subject as well as spontaneous reactions of independent observers on the on going debate. Known as an outspoken journalist, critic and prolific writer on Socio-religious issues, he was also an invitee to present papers to the 9 World Conference of the Catholic Press in Luxemburg and a Meeting of Journalists from Developing countries in Trier, Germany in 1971 and to the Asian Journalists’ Conference in Hong Kong in 1975.

An advocate of free speech and a firm believer in the supremacy of God’s grace in all human affairs, Dr. Kottoor holds a Bachelors degree in Journalism from Marquette University, Milwaukee, USA, a Doctorate in Theology and a Diploma in Sociology from Rome. He has been the Editor and Publisher of the National Weekly the New Leader, from Madras, in 1970s, Editorial Secretary at the Ecumenical Christian Centre, Bangalore, a freelance writer, and is the honourary Associate Editor of Indian Currents weekly with his regular column “Frankly Speaking” from 1998.
